Our team is composed of researchers and doctors who have studied how your brain impacts your life, health and wealth over the last 50 years. Below is our explanation of the apps we create to help you gain control over your mind to improve your performance, enhance your business and develop your relationships.
You are human. You have a brain. Your brain controls everything you do. Your brain has the same parts as every other human being, a larger upper part divided into a right side, and a left side, and a much smaller lower part, the amygdala.
You can control most of the upper parts of your brain. You don’t control a lower part of your brain, the oldest part of your brain, your LIZARD BRAIN, your amygdala.
Your LIZARD BRAIN-amygdala reacts automatically to a threat of loss. You have no conscious control of your LIZARD BRAIN. The first humans had only small lizard brains, and, as a result, the tops of their heads ended at their eyebrows.
When threatened by predators, such as saber tooth tigers looking for food, your predecessors’ primitive brains automatically “turned-on”, with no thinking required, and caused the release of powerful chemicals into their bodies.
These chemicals, called hormones, caused them to become more alert, see better, hear better, become stronger, and run faster, so they could either fight the saber tooth tiger or other predator off, or flee to safety.
As time went by, the survivors who escaped the predators developed upper parts of their brains, the tops of their heads extended above their eyebrows, and your successful predecessors were able to control the use the parts of their brains above the amygdala to think, and to figure out ways to manage and/or eliminate threats to their survival such as saber tooth tigers.
Although there are very few saber tooth tigers threatening you and other humans in today’s modern world, multiple other threats of loss and survival or success challenges do confront human beings nearly every hour of every day, causing them to spend time in primitive, “fight or flight” brain function.
School exams, interactions with friends, loved ones, family members, teachers, and supervisors, all can threaten losses and automatically switch on your primitive, “fight or flight” LIZARD BRAIN/ amygdalar function.
Only one part of the brain can function at a time. When the lizard brain/ amygdala is switched “on”, the upper brain parts are switched “off”.
When upper brain parts are switched “off”, human beings are prevented from functioning in the more developed and productive upper brain parts, which enable the rational, sequential, numerical, analytical thought processes required to “be in control” of their lives, and capable of maximizing their productivity and creativity, and living fulfilled and happy lives.
The upper “left-brain” part breaks things into pieces enabling human beings to perform rational, sequential, numerical tasks of organization and productivity. The upper “right-brain” part perceives things in their totality and provides a conceptual perception of internal and external reality that enables human beings to perform creative tasks.
A key to being productive, creative, fulfilled, and happy is to limit time spent in amygdalar function, where nothing good happens unless one is being chased by a saber tooth tiger, or its modern fear of failure alternatives.
The “Panic Button” application provides a tool for you to quickly switch your amygdalar function “off” so that you can perform better in your life.
You can easily recognize when your amygdalar function has been “turned on”. You will feel scared, confused, anxious, out of focus, not totally present, disconnected, nervous, agitated, and out-of-sorts, to a lesser or greater extent.
When you feel scared, confused, anxious, out of focus, not totally present, disconnected, nervous, agitated, and/or “out-of-sorts”, and are not being chased by a saber-tooth tiger, click on the red “Panic Button”, and follow the screen prompts to count backward from “10” to “1”. Watching the screen prompts and verbalizing the descending numbers will switch off your amygdalar function, and switch on your left-brain function.
Your left-brain function will put you back in control and enable you to apply the “breaking things into pieces” capabilities of left-brain function, and perhaps initiate right brain function creativity to maximize your performance abilities.
